An organization made up of people who have each experienced their own grief. They inspire hope and healing for people in the Ottawa Region grieving the loss of a loved one.


Compassionate Ottawa

Offers grief and bereavement workshops in the community led by trained facilitators. These include public workshops or forums for specific groups such as the pastoral team in a faith community, a workplace team, a school community, a condo group, a book club or other community group.

Hospice Care Ottawa

Hospice Care Ottawa’s Grief & Bereavement programs and services provide free, immediate support to bereaved individuals 18 year of age or older for a period of time after the anticipated death of a loved one due to a life limiting illness. Services include Partner/Spousal Support Groups, Adult Loss of Parent Group, Bereavement Retreats & Workshops, Grief and Bereavement Walking Groups, and Drop-in Groups. Counselling is available if your loved one received services from Hospice Care Ottawa.


Ottawa Grief Care

The educational sessions offered by Ottawa Grief Care+, delivered by bereavement specialists, help bring a sense of normalcy, support, comfort & knowledge, to people who are grieving. They deliver sessions to individuals, as well as organizations including workplaces, non-profits, social support groups, front line work places, educational institutions, conferences and funeral homes.


Roger Neilson House

Roger Neilson House provides family support throughout their highly individual experience of grief. From a child’s diagnosis, throughout their illness, and after their death, grief support and bereavement care are offered to the entire family, including parents, grandparents, and siblings. They also offer grief support for perinatal loss.


Still Birth Day

Stillbirthday Global Network is an internationally trusted benevolent organization whose philanthropic mission is simply to doula: to nurture sources of perinatal bereavement, strengthen skills of healthcare professionals and increase healthy engagement of perinatal related needs among communities.


What’s Your Grief

Offers resources for everyone, as well as online and in-person continuing education training for grief support professionals. Their goal is to create a community that provides hope, support, and education to anyone wishing to understand the complicated experience of life after loss.
